Our History
Caribbean Foodservice Inc. is a full line distributor of fresh meats, frozen products, fresh produce, dairy, dry groceries, and environmentally friendly disposables — serving hotels, grocery stores, cruise ships, bars and restaurants across the US and British Virgin Islands for more than 38 years.
Our Story
Born on St. Croix, Howard Bowring has been in the foodservice distribution industry from the age of 19. In 1988, at the age of 24, Bowring with a business partner formed Caribbean Basic Supplies. In 2006 Bowring bought his partner’s share of the business and changed its name to Caribbean Foodservice Inc. In 2010 Annette Bowring was appointed Vice President of the company.
Growth
The company continues to grow at a steady pace. At the end of 2008, sales were up 110% from 2006. In 2009 the Small Business Administration selected Howard Bowring as the Small Business Person of the Year. In 2014 Caribbean Foodservice officially moved to a new, larger warehouse facility, and we are currently enlarging our cash and carry grocery store.
